PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PÉCS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

For years, Pécsiközgáz has been a committed advocate for sustainability, which typically makes everyone think first of environmental sustainability, while the social pillar is equally indispensable. This is why we considered it important to participate in the VI. Pécs Live Charity Event organized by the Pécs Community Foundation on May 6, 2024, where we represented ourselves among the audience and supported the goals of Dinamó INSZI, the See the World through Autistic Eyes Association, and the Pécs Charity Women’s Association with donations.

The cooperation did not end there, as we believe it is essential for our economics students to understand non-profit thinking and values beyond profit, incorporate these into education, and at the same time make the creative energy and expertise available to civil organizations that are developed within our faculty, thus supporting these organizations in achieving their goals not only in the form of financial support.

Therefore, we decided to establish a long-term partnership with the Pécs Community Foundation, mutually assisting each other in projects, guest lectures, micro-certification training, internships, and joint events in the future.

INSTITUTE AND FACULTY ADVISORY BOARD

In the spring semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, the advisory boards of the five institutes were established, whose members, in cooperation with the institute directors and members, contribute to the continuous development of a high-quality, practice-oriented educational system that meets economic and social expectations and supports students' career building. The chairpersons of the institute advisory boards form the Faculty Advisory Board. The boards have already met four times, where they initiated discussions on various topics, including the employment situation of international students at local companies and the development of the postgraduate specialization program system. Sustainability aspects were also raised on several occasions, with particular attention to the ESG area.

The head of the Sustainability Centre is also invited to the Faculty Advisory Board meetings, enabling two-way communication. This allows us to represent our related standpoint to the practice side while corporate experts can provide feedback from a practical perspective. Beyond representing the sustainability theme, the role of the Faculty Advisory Board is also important from the perspective of sustainable development goals, as it closely relates to SDG4 Quality Education.

Additionally, the Faculty, and thus the Centre, maintains close relationships with numerous companies that provide practical lectures or projects on sustainability topics for our students. More details on these can be found under the Practice section.
