Purpose

The mission of the Faculty and the Sustainability Centre in ethics, responsibility, and sustainability (ERS) is realized along three main pillars, which form the foundation of our commitment to sustainability.

ERS in the Curriculum: The first pillar is the integration of sustainability into the curriculum. Our courses, which are either fully based on or partially address the ERS topics, ensure that our students possess in-depth knowledge of environmental, social, and economic sustainability issues. Certificate programs focused on these topics are available at multiple educational levels. We aim for future leaders to master sustainability principles during their education and apply them in practical situations.

ERS in Research and the Third Mission: The second pillar supports and develops ERS research and strengthens the university's third mission, which encompasses social responsibility and collaboration. In addition to the research conducted by the faculty, students have a great opportunity through the Scientific Student Conference (TDK), where they can begin their scientific careers on sustainability topics in both Hungarian and English language programs. Through the third mission, we also maintain close relationships with the local community and the faculty’s partners.

Extracurricular ERS Activities and Collaborations: The third pillar encourages extracurricular activities and collaborations that facilitate practical experience and strengthen community responsibility. Through our programs and initiatives, our students actively participate in sustainability projects and events, thus contributing to positive changes.

Along these pillars, we strive to ensure that every member of our community becomes committed to sustainability, and through our joint efforts, we build a better and more sustainable future.
