WORLD OF PRACTICE (WOP) LECTURES

Within the WoP lecture series, our partners and alumni have the opportunity to give lectures on related topics throughout the academic year. The center aims to include at least five lectures each semester that are related to sustainability and ERS topics.

Current Lectures (2023/2024 Academic Year):

Fall Semester:

  • Challenges of Multinational Companies in the Field of Compliance - Szabolcs Tokodi, Andrea Ruzic, Kitti Papp (EY)
  • Tourism Utilization of Pécsvárad Castle - Bernadett Gászné Bősz (Pécsvárad Castle and Museum)
  • Sustainable Investments - András Bőhm (Swiss Re Capital Markets)

Spring Semester:

CAMPAIGNS AIMED AT BEHAVIOR CHANGE Be the Change Campus Challenge - Spring 2024

As part of the CAL, the Sustainability Center aims to contribute to more sustainable behavior within the faculty community (students and staff) each semester through small steps. Therefore, we launched the 'Be the Change Campus Challenge' campaign series, which asks for one simple action each semester that requires minimal effort but represents an important step.

The first topic of the campaign involved placing stickers, designed by the center and implemented by the Marketing Office, on the paper towel dispensers in the restrooms. We hope this will reduce the current weekly average consumption of 36 packs of paper towels in Building B during the academic term.

We encourage everyone to give it a try and be more mindful of their paper towel usage!

Refill Challenge

Did you know?

  • 1 million plastic bottles are purchased every minute worldwide.
  • Half of the purchased bottles end up in the trash within 30 minutes.
  • It takes 450 years for a plastic bottle to decompose.

Start small and instead of buying plastic bottles/canned drinks, REFILL YOUR BOTTLE! Join our "𝑹𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒆" sustainability challenge from April 22, 2024, Earth Day, for two weeks! Contribute to our environment every day in 3 simple steps:

  1. Fill your bottle with water.
  2. Click the following link and answer the form questions after each refill: https://tinyurl.com/refill-challenge.
  3. After 10 refills, receive a Pécsiközgáz reusable cup; after 15 refills, a flower seed notepad; and after 25 refills, a recycled material shopping bag. The top 5 participants with the most refills will receive a Pécsiközgáz hoodie and a power bank.
